It is with much sadness and regret that this post is written.

It has been decided that unfortunately Gordon is unlikely to recover consiousness and that Gordon has now passed on. He remains on life support waiting for international family to arrive.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Annie as she now faces some very tough decisions on Friday.

Should you wish to mail cards and or condolances, please contact me on the email (kristeen.bon@interlloy.com.au) or on my mobile 0411 635 611 for details.

Gordon was full of humor and loved and lived life to the full. He greeted every day with enthusiasm and faced every challenge with strength and determination.

I remember a big man, with a big booming laugh, a big appetite, and a caring nature. :) A man with a zest for adventure, a fit and healthy man who loved to swim, who loved to challenge himself. A man to whom family came first and who adored the three women in his life. :)

Please feel free to post here, all those funny injokes and anecdotes and there are tons of them, Annie and the girls will need this in the future.

On a private note, I'd like to thank Annie for her generosity in sharing Gordon with us, allowing us the opportunity to say our own personal goodbyes. Annies strength and dignity at this time is admirable.

Thankyou for all your support and remember to say I love you when you walk out the door.

  1. Gordon,

You may have lost the fight but you won the battle which was to leave an unforgettable positive mark upon everyone you met and this world. I have friends you only met once or twice at swims who are devastated by this tragedy. We often spoke of how much time you have to think when swimming, especially in the pool or longer races like Pier to Perignon (of which you are one of it's greatest participants)… Mate I'll be thinking of you when I hit the water which no doubt will slow me down as I'll have a big smile on my face thinking about the funny times we had… and of course tears don't show in the surf! I'm still laughing about last time we were out and you made me edge a little further forward when parking, so Tony had to step out into a puddle. I'll really miss that wicked sense of mischievous but harmless good humour… few can master it like you did!

    Annie,

Thanks for sharing Gordon with us on all those days and nights when Collingwood were playing or we were just catching up to talk work. If I could give them back to you, I would do so in a flash although my life would be poorer for giving away my experiences with Gordon. You know better than us he was one of life's true gentlemen and our heartfelt thoughts are with you in this unbelievably difficult time.
